Compared with traditional drainage and sewage pipes, PVC-U stiffened pipes have the following characteristics:

(1) The reinforced pipe is a flexible pipe, allowing greater axial bending. The elastic rubber ring connection has good anti-leakage performance. When the foundation produces uneven settlement, there will be no leakage, and it has a good adaptability to soft soil foundation.

(2) the ring stiffness of the reinforced pipe is higher, the lateral strength is large, the toughness is good, and it can bear the large buried load and other pressures on the road surface.

(3) The reinforced pipe is light in weight, easy to transport, handling and loading and unloading, which brings great convenience to the construction, reduces the labor intensity of the construction personnel, and does not need mechanical hoisting operation, improves the construction efficiency and reduces the construction cost.

(4) The inner wall of the stiffened pipe is smooth, and the Manning friction coefficient is 0.009. Compared with the concrete pipe of the same diameter (Manning friction coefficient is 0.013), the stiffened pipe can increase the flow rate by about 40%. At the same time, the smooth inner wall of the pipe is not easy to cause blockage, so the number of shafts for inspection and maintenance can be reduced accordingly, and the project cost can be reduced.
